Du-ba-Du: Reduce marriage expenses, says Zaheeruddin Ali Khan

Hyderabad: Unnecessary expenses in Muslim marriages and sectarian differences are the ailments which are ruining the Muslim Ummah like termites. Muslims should build their character and give importance to get education so that they could prosper. It is a welcome gesture that a new line of thinking is being developed among the younger generation.

Du-ba-Du program in Warangal

These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing the 5th Du-ba-Du program organized by Siasat Urdu Daily, Siasat’s Millat Fund and Minority Intellectual Forum at Warangal.

The program was organized by Barista Star School at Zakaria Function Hall, Raipura, Hanmakonda.

Dr. Anees Siddiqui, President of Minority Intellectual Forum of Warangal presided over the function. Mr. Shahid Masood, Regional Director, Municipal administration also attended the meeting.

Seated on the dais were Dr. Raza Malik, Asst. Professor of Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal, Mr. M.A. Kaleem, Vice President, Muslim Welfare Society, Warangal, Mr. Masood Mirza Mehshar, Maulana Sattar Qasmi and others.

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan further told that the situations of Muslim Ummah are deteriorating day-by-day. We should ponder over it seriously. Due to unnecessary expenses in marriages, matrimonial alliances are not being finalized.

Citing the example of the wedding of Hazrat Ali with Hazrat Fatima, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan stressed the need for the youngsters to follow Islamic Sharia in weddings.

The new thought which is being developed among the younger generation is that a youth earning an income to the tune of lakhs of rupees wants to marry in a simple manner.

Importance of name in voters’ list

Highlighting the importance of getting the names of the citizens included in the voters’ list, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan told that it is the duty of every eligible voter to check his name in the voters’ list. He appealed to the voluntary organizations to run a campaign for the inclusion of names of eligible voters. He advised the people to keep all the relevant documents with them to establish their Indian citizenship.

He told the Muslim youths to improve their economic status by starting small scale industries. It is the duty of the parents to keep their children abreast of Islamic teachings right from the childhood.

While finalizing matrimonial alliances, good character of the girls should be the criteria rather than their beauty.

Mr. Shahid Masood pointed out that the Muslims listen to the sermons of the Ulema but they don’t put them into practice. He applauded the efforts of Siasat Urdu Daily and said that Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan and Mr. Amer Ali Khan are making efforts for the progress of Muslim Ummah.

Dr. Anees Siddiqui welcomed the guests and gave the details of 5th Du-ba-Du program held at Warangal under the auspices of Siasat Urdu Daily and Minority Intellectual Forum, Warangal.

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan gave mementos to Ms. Nusrat Jahan, Ms. Meraj Sultan, Ms. Maimona Banu and Mr. Masood Mirza Mehshar for making arrangements for the function.
