Dubai Duty Free stores begin accepting Indian currency – Here’re the details

Dubai: Good news for the one who wants to pay money in Indian currency at Dubai Duty Free stores.

According to the report published in Khaleej Times, on 1st July, Indian currency became the 16th foreign currency to be accepted at the stores.

The currency will be accepted at Dubai Duty Free in Terminals 1, 2 and 3 of Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport.

The stores will accept Indian currency in the denomination of Rs. 100, 200, 500 and 2000. However, the change will be returned in UAE Dirhams.

It may be mentioned that in 2018, 18% of Dubai Duty Free business was done with Indian passenger. Indians are the second largest group of employees at the store.
