Five-member gang held for theft

Hyderabad: The Pahadi Shareef Police on Friday arrested a gang of five thefts iduldged in offences including threatening, stealing bikes, mobile phones and cash from public.

Officials recovered 6 motorbikes and 2 cell phones worth 3 lakh rupees from their possession. The arrested were identified as Mohammad Shabaz,19, Mohammad Amir Pasha,20, Mohammad Asif, 19, Mohammad Abbas,21, and Syed Arif,20.

The Pahadi Shareef Police received a com- plaint from one stating that 3 men had forcefully made him stop his bike, threatened him, extorted his cash, mobile phone and bike and fled the scene. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case on August 26 and began an inves- tigation.

The police nabbed the gang on the outskirts of Pahadi Shareef and recovered the stolen property. The gang had 7 cases registered against them under Pahadi Shareef Police Station, Chandrayangutta Police Station, Langer House Police Station and Humayun Nagar Police Station limits.

During interrogation, the gang confessed to stealing bikes. Officials said that they had done so in order to earn money easily.

They identified motorcycles kept in parking areas in residential colonies, damaged their locks and stole them. They also threatened one vehicle owner who caught them stealing,” said the Police.

The Police produced the gang before a local court which sent them to judicial custody.
