Hyderabad: Five persons from Hyderabad who had travelled to China in recent past have been suspected of Coronavirus on Wednesday.
The suspected patients complained of symptoms like fever, runny nose and mild fever. They immediately got admitted at Fever Hospital, Nallakunta. A total of 246 passengers from Hong Kong underwent the Thermal screening for Coronavirus in Hyderabad.
National Institute of Virology (NIV)
The superintendent of the Fever Hospital Dr. K Shankar said that they would be sending the swab samples of the suspected patients to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) to check for results related to Coronavirus. The patients are being treated at the isolation ward.
Initiatives by the Health Department
The Health Department has further given directions to establish 100 more beds for treatment of Coronavirus cases in Telangana. Gandhi Hospital has also initiated process to provide 40 beds each for treatment.
Coronavirus is a family of large viruses that results in illness ranging from fever, cold and other respiratory illness. The virus has initially spread in China but has caused alarm in various other countries.
