Mysuru: At Mysuru Lit Fest, writer-columnist, Ms. Shobhaa De claimed that ‘Freedom of Press’ is a myth.
According to the report published in Deccan Chronicle, on Sunday, hundreds of Mysureans attended the fest to listen to the writer.
It may be mentioned that Ms. Shoabhaa De had arrived Mysuru after a gap of 20 years.
Media house controlled by corporates: Shoabhaa De
Talking to Mr. Mahesh Rao, the writer said that she writes four columns per week. She alleged that the media is controlled and owned by corporates.
She further said that Ramnath Goenka had protested for freedom of the press and such persons are not available now.
MeToo Movement:
Ms. Shoabhaa added that she will continue to say what she wants. Expressing her views on #MeToo Movement, she said that it was the strongest movement in the last 100 years. However, she stressed that people lack the moral courage to support the movement.
