Govt. cannot dismiss 50 thousand RTC employees: JAC

Hyderabad: Chairman of Joint Action Committee (JAC) of TSRTC employees, Mr. Ashwata Rama Reddy told that Govt. had resorted to the policy of harassing RTC employees. An attempt is being made for the employees to bow down before the Govt. but JAC is ready to face any situation. In the history of the entire world, there is no such incident that any government had dismissed 50 thousand employees at a time.

He further told that by taking a decision of 50-50 government-private partnership, it has proved the apprehension of the RTC employees that government is trying to privatize RTC.

Mr. Thomas, Vice President of TMU told that the stand taken by the government is dictatorial. In a democracy, employees have the right to struggle for getting their demands fulfilled but the Govt. has declared the strike of RTC employees illegal which is nothing but misleading the people.

He further told that the employees had already given the notice for strike but the Govt. did not take initiative to start negotiations and neglected the demands of the employees.

He further told by taking a tough stand against RTC employees, Govt. is inviting public revolt. Government by its order cannot take such a decision. Employees have many channels open. They can drag the government into the portals of law, judiciary and public court. RTC is a public organization and its employees are agitating against the conspiracy of the Govt. to loot the public funds by privatizing it.

JAC also noted that Govt. did not learn a lesson from the results of the recently held Lok Sabha elections in which it lost four prestigious seats. Instead of taking a lesson from the past, Govt. is targeting the employees which is not good for the future of the Govt. By taking adverse decisions, an impression is being created that Telangana Govt. can do whatever it wants to but public awareness has been awakened now.
