Hyderabad: Dr. Tamilsai SoudarajaN Governor of Telangana today said that Tuberculosis was completely curable and that Tuberculosis should be completely eradicated from the State of Telangana.
Launching the TB Seal Sale Campaign here at the Raj Bhavan Tamilsai Soundarajan in her address said that the people in the rural areas are suffering from these dreaded diseases. Now, there are so many good medicines introduced under the Revised National TB Control Programme she urged the TB patients to take treatment continuously without any break, as suggested by the doctors. She advised the TB Associations to take steps and see that the TB cases are reduced. For the Research purpose, for the control of TB disease, the research is very costly and hence, the Corporate Sector should be involved and take the initiative to work with the Government to make Telangana hundred percent TB free State before 2025
On the occasion, she appreciated the TB Association of Telangana for doing yeoman services to eradicate T.B.
On the occasion, the Governor distributed the Awards to the winners. She also presented a cheque of Rs.15,000/- to the State TB Association
Dr.T.V.Venkateswarulu, Retd. Additional Director & Vice – Chairman, TB Association of Telangana presided Dr. G.Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health & Family Welfare, Telangana, were among those present.
