Has Congress leader Feroz Khan joined BJP?

Hyderabad: Feroz Khan who had contested parliamentary election from Hyderabad against Asaduddin Owaisi on Congress ticket has reportedly joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, he joined the saffron party in Delhi on Wednesday in the presence of Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay.

However, Feroz Khan denied the report and termed it as fake.

Months ago there were rumours that the leader will join the saffron party. However, at that time, he had rejected the rumours and reiterated that he would remain in the Congress party and struggle to solve the problems of the public.

It may be mentioned that Feroz Khan is famous among a section of Muslims.

Apart from contesting parliamentary election from Hyderabad, he had also contested election for MLA seat from Nampally Assembly Constituency.

Last time, the leader had grabbed the headlines when he planned the ‘chalo secretariat’ programme to demand the immediate re-construction of two Mosques that were razed during the demolition of old secretariat complex.

A senior Congress leader said that Feroz Khan did not confirm the development and said that there is no official communication from him on that front. “The sole purpose in politics here is to defeat MIM for him, which is why he has probably left Congress. He thinks he can do it through the BJP,” the Congress leader told siasat.com.
