HC asks BIE to produce answer sheets of deceased Inter students

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court today asked the State government to bring answer sheets of all the 26 students, who have either committed suicide or made suicide attempt before it for a perusal on the next hearing.

The HC issued orders following submission of a report by the State government on the Intermediate Board’s fiasco. The advocate for the State government told the division bench that they have released the results of re-verification of the answer sheets of all the failed students and uploaded answer sheets of all the failed students online on May 27, last month as per the orders of the court. He also submitted to the court that of the 26 students committed suicide, none of them passed in the re-verification process. The counsel also told the HC that one of the suicide students Anamika had cleared all the three papers that she appeared for.

Taking objections to the arguments of the State government’s counsel, advocate for the petitioner C. Damodar Reddy told the HC that the re-verification process was not completed by the Intermediate Board and added that answer sheets of 8,000 failed students were still being processed by the Board. Then the HC asked the petitioner’s counsel to submit his reply on the issue and adjourned the matter till June 10, 2019.
