Himachal’s COVID-19 count reaches 1,016

Kota: A 42-year-old man was killed allegedly by his nephew who attacked him using a stick over an old dispute in Ralayta village of Bundi district, police said on Friday.

Kajod Meena was napping in the front room of his house on Thursday afternoon when his nephew, Kalulal Meena (25), reached there armed with the stick. He attacked his uncle, hitting him several times on his head, before fleeing from the spot, SHO at Basoli police station Bhanwar Singh said.

Hearing Kajod Meena’s screams, two members of his family rushed him to a hospital where after primary treatment, he was referred to MBS hospital in Kota on Thursday evening, he said.

He succumbed during treatment on Friday morning, the SHO added.

The police handed over the body to family members after post-mortem later in the morning and lodged a case of murder under section 302 of the IPC against the accused, the SHO said.

Primary investigation revealed that the two had a spat over some cattle about a year ago and the accused was looking for a chance for revenge from his uncle, he added.
