Hong Kong stocks rise for sixth successive day

Hong Kong: Hong Kong stocks rose for a sixth-straight day on Friday, topping off a strong week as investors are cheered by a dovish Federal Reserve and hopes for China-US trade talks.

The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.55 percent, or 145.84 points, to end at 26,667.27. It has risen more than six percent during its winning run.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.74 percent, or 18.73 points, to 2,553.83, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.76 percent, or 9.88 points, to 1,313.36.
