Hyderabad: 10% increase in use of CNG

Hyderabad: On the one hand, Govt. is making an attempt to overcome environmental pollution by finding alternate usage of fuel in vehicles, on the other hand, people have increased the usage of CNG.

According to the latest report, the usage of CNG in Hyderabad City has increased by 10%. This increase has also been reported in other southern State like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Throughout India, there are 11000 auto CNG stations. The largest number of CNG stations in southern States is in Bengaluru since High Court of Karnataka has issued stern instructions that only CNG should be used as fuel in auto rickshaws so that air pollution could be controlled. Telangana State has no such law which binds auto rickshaw drivers to used only CNG in their vehicles. Despite this, the usage of CNG in auto rickshaws is on the increase in the city.
