Hyderabad airport starts Self Bag Drop facility for passengers

Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on the occasion of 71st Republic Day has launched the Self Bag Drop (SBD) facility at the airport.

SGK Kishore, Chief Executive Officer, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) along with the other officials of IndiGo and GHIAL inaugurated the live trials of Self Bag Drop (SBD) facility at the domestic departures terminal.

According to GHIAL, the objective of the SBD is to empower passengers and bring in more automation, the airport has initiated the installation of SBD machines at the domestic departures terminal.

Further explaining about the SBT, Mr. Kishore said, “Now the domestic departures passengers can printout their boarding cards and baggage tags from any of the Self Check-in Kiosks and proceed to drop their baggage at the Self Bag Drop facility.

Currently, the Self Bag Drop facility is available for passengers flying by IndiGo airlines; subsequently, this facility will be extended to passengers of all other domestic airlines, Mr. Kishore informs.
