Hyderabad: Five BTech students with 8 kgs Ganja held

Hyderabad: The RGI Airport Police have confiscated eight kilograms of Ganja that was in possession of five Btech students which includes three repeat offenders.

The offenders are identified as T Bhanu Teja Reddy, K Akhil, Shaik Nayeem, D Sai Kumar, all aged around 20 years, including D Sai Naresh Chandra Yadav, 21, all from Khammam district, residing at Hyderguda. The students, studying in different colleges, were friends. The students were nabbed for peddling ganja at Shamshabad on Friday, TOI reports.

According to reports, on the day of the incident, Bhanu and Chandra went to Shamshabad bus stop with four kg ganja, when police patrolling team nabbed the duo while they were trying to sell ganja to customers


The police said the youngsters had purchased eight kg ganja at Rs 2000 per kg from persons in Araku Valley in AP and planned to sell ganja at a higher price to youngsters.


The police was successful in nabbing the other two accused based on Bhanu and Chandra’s confession.

Previously, Bhanu was caught last year by Bengaluru police for a similar drug peddling offence.

While Akhil and Nayeem too were also arrested by excise department for a similar offence. Police booked the five persons under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
