Hyderabad: Four-of-family held for theft

Hyderabad: The Bowenpally Police arrested four members of a family for committing theft from a house that was reported a week ago. The police recovered 2 kg of gold, silver articles weighing 6.5 kg and four mobile phones and a car from their possession.

The arrested were identified as Taduri Supriya, Kolluri Sathvik, Kolluri Srinivas and Kolluri Sunitha. Supriya and Sathvik are the children of Srinivas and Sunitha, the police said. The family had committed theft from Supriya’s mother-in-law’s house.

According to the police, the complainant Thaduri Sarala (48), was into the finance business. Last Monday, Sarala had left her son at Bapuji Nagar and went to Secunderabad on her two-wheeler. When she returned home, she found the locks of her house broke open and bags containing various models of gold ornaments weighing about 3 kg, silver and Rs 18 lakhs cash missing from the almirah.

“During the investigation, officials learned that Supriya’s relationship with her husband, Dheeraj was not on the best terms and she was not staying with him in her in-law’s place. In a bid to take revenge, she and her family decided to steal from her mother-in-law, Sarala, as she keeps a huge amount of cash and jewellery in the house.

Accordingly, the family broke open and stole from Sarala’s house on the 21st of this month,” said Anjani Kumar, CP.
