Hyderabad a growing hub for entrepreneurship: Ch. Malla Reddy

Hyderabad: Over 31 participants from various countries will be attending the phase 1- International Executive Development Programme (IEDP) 2019-20 started on Thursday by the National Institute for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (NI-MSME).

The Chief Guest, Ch. Malla Reddy, Minister for Labour & Employment, Factories, Women & Child Welfare and Skill Development, Government of Telangana graced the inaugural function at ni-msme campus on Thursday.

The programme is sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) (Indian Government’s flagship programme in capacity building).

Ch. Malla Reddy, himself an entrepreneur in the field of education, in his inaugural address welcomed the participants to Hyderabad. He said that the city is a growing hub for entrepreneurship and stands top in the country. He greeted the participants and wished them a pleasant stay and a good time of learning.

Director General, D. Chandra Sekhar expressed his pleasure as he welcomed the participants and said “ni-msme has a history of training over 10,000 international students in its 60 years of journey. This year we have about 70 international participants from 31 countries in our campus today. This programme is for the benefit of the developing and underdeveloped countries. The aim is to promote entrepreneurship and address the problems of micro, small and medium enterprises”.

According to officials around 31 delegates will be participating in this programme from various countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Botswana, Maldives, Mauritius, Myanmar, Oman, Sudan, Tanzania, Uzbekistan and many more.

The programme is scheduled in 4 phases with eight executive development programmes spanning 6 weeks each. The Phase-I which was started on Thursday will have the following courses:

  • 1. Empowerment of Women through Enterprises (EWE): Programme Directors: Dr. K. Visweswara Reddy & Mr. G. Sudarshan
  • Promotion and Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PDMSMEs): Programme Directors:Mr. J. Koteswara Rao & Smt. V. Swapna
  • Promotion of Micro Enterprises (POME): Programme Directors:Mr. KSP Goud & Dr. E. Vijaya.
