Hyderabad: Haj Training programmes to start from February

Hyderabad: Draw of lots to select pilgrims of Haj 2020 held B. Shafiullah, IFS., Executive Officer, Telangana State Haj Committee stated that Ajay Misra, IAS, Spl Chief Secretary to Govt., Minorities Welfare inaugurated the computerized Qurrah (draw of lots) for intending Haj – 2020 pilgrims at Haj House on Saturday.

The draw was inaugurated in presence of Md. Masiullah Khan, Chairman TS Haj Committee,  Md. Qamaruddin, Chairman TS Minorities Commission, Md Saleem, Chairman TS Wakf Board, Mamata Gupta, Corporator, Tayyaba Affandi Member Central Haj Committee, M.A Shafi (Corporator), Abu Talha Amjed, Sri Aqeel Hashmi,  Arifuddin (Members State Haj Committee).

A quota of about 4341 pilgrims was allotted to Telangana State for which a total of 10752 online applications were received. A total of 464 applications were received under the senior citizens category (above 70 years of age), and 8 aspirants are women without Mehram category, while another 23 applications were for infants. The computerised draw system was broadcast live on large screens within the Haj House premises. 

B. Shafiullah, IFS., Executive Officer, Telangana State Haj Committee  who presided over the program welcomed the dignitaries and gave a brief note about the process of the Haj Camp. He said that the Telangana State Haj Committee has been making the best arrangements for Haj pilgrims and would continue to do so.

He further said that the selected pilgrims can remit Rs. 81,000/- on or before 1st February -2020 and Rs. 1,20,000/- on or before 15th March -2020 as 1st balance amount and submit their online forms along with Original Passport to Telangana State Haj Committee. These amounts are common to all categories. The remittance can be made by pilgrims through State Bank of India or Union Bank of India, online service i.e. www.hajcommittee.gov.in. The Haj Training programmes will be start in the month of February onwards.

He requested the Haj applicants not to fall into the trap of middlemen. “No agents can have any say in this matter, since the whole system has been computerised for random selection, and personal influence cannot work,” he added.

The intending Haj pilgrims also can check their cover status from official Haj Committee website www.hajcommittee.gov.in and the SMS will also send to Haj pilgrims registered contacts.
