Hyderabad: Junior doctors demand recruitment of Asst. Professors, holds hunger strike

Hyderabad: Junior doctors who are demanding immediate recruitment of Asst. Professors held a one-day hunger strike on Friday.

According to the report published in India Today, the strike was held at Gandhi and Osmania Hospitals. Since last two days, junior doctors have boycotted elective services.

The association of the doctors demands the government to end the recruitment of doctors of contract basis. They also demand the immediate recruitment of Asst. Professors.

The association is also against the decision to increase the retirement age of teaching faculty from 58 to 65.

The members of the association submitted a memorandum to Governor requesting him not to promulgate an ordinance.
