Hyderabad: Rs 1 lakh penalty slapped on Paradise over hygiene

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Thursday levied a penalty of Rs 1 lakh on Paradise Food Court Private Limited’s restaurant at Secunderabad for unhygienic conditions in the kitchen, vegetables found in rotten conditions in the premises and usage of single-use plastic.

On Wednesday, a customer lodged a complaint with GHMC regarding the quality of the food following which a team of officials including food inspectors, veterinary and vigilance wing inspected the restaurant.

“During our inspection, we noticed unhygienic conditions in the kitchen and found rotten vegetables. Despise a ban on single-use plastic, the management was found to be rampantly using the single-use plastic,” said GHMC food inspector Sudershan.

GHMC fines KLM Rs 3L, Café Bahar Rs 1L GHMC has slapped a fine of Rs 3 lakh on KLM shopping mall in Chandanagar for illegal video display. The mall, however, continues to play the videos on its facade.

GHMC imposed the penalty for the third time again on Thursday. It also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on hotel Cafe Bahar at Alekhya Towers on Sagar Ring Road. Officials inspected and noticed unhygienic conditions apart from non-segregation of waste and lack of trade license.

In another instance, GHMC issued a penalty of Rs 10,000 on pan shop owner and Rs 20,000 on Agarwal Agency in Fathenagar for littering.
