Hyderabad: As a mark of continuing with the protest against the CAA-NRC-NPR, the United Muslim Action Committee (UMAC) led by AIMIM has decided to organise ‘Ehtejaji Mushaira’ at the Khilwat Grounds on the night of January 25.
Big names in Urdu poetry including Rahat Indori, Sampat Saral, Lata Haya, Shabina Adeeb and several others will put their thoughts into poetry. Mushaira will be followed by hoisting of Tricolour at 12 am of January 26 with the hoisting of the National Flag and singing of the national anthem to celebrate Republic Day.
UMAC had originally planned to hold the event at the historic Charminar monument, but after the city police denied permission the organisers decided to hold the event near the Khilwat Ground.
AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi announced the change in the venue through a tweet which stated: “Poets’ Protest Meeting against CAA, NRC, NPR will begin on 25th night & we’ll welcome India’s Republic Day by hoisting tiranga at 12 am”.
