Indian Navy joins rescue operations in Mumbai as heavy rain kills several people

Mumbai: Multiple people have been killed while streets have been waterlogged and flights cancelled due to torrential rain across the region.

According to Skymet Weather Services a private company, Mumbai experiences its heaviest rainfall in almost a decade, will intensify from July 3 as weather system over the Bay of Bengal will move towards West Coast resulting in heavy showers.

Civic officials said over 85 percent average rainfall for June has taken place in the last four days
