Iranian Foreign Ministry blames US for ‘rioting’ in Iran

Tehran: Speaking during a press conference in Tehran, on November 25, 2019, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi blamed the United States for its support to the recent protests in Iran over the price rise of gasoline.

According to Xinhua, condemning what he called “the U.S. and foreigners’ interference in Iran’s internal affairs, the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi said that the United States wants more “riots and violent protests” in the Islamic republic.

Following the rationing of subsidized gasoline and increasing of its prices by the Iranian government on November 15, protests and violence erupted in a number of Iranian cities.
