CM of Gujarat, Mr. Vijay Roopani bestowed honours on former DGP of Gujarat, Mr. P P Pandey for performing excellent police service. He was an accused in Ishrat Jahan encounter case. C.M. also bestowed honours on 108 policemen on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that Mr. Pandy was an accused in Ishrat Jahan encounter case which took place in 2004.
In the same manner, another IPS officer, Mr.Mohan Jha was also honoured. He was the member of S.I.T. constituted by the Supreme Court of India.
The felicitation programme was held at Ahmedabad. The police officer who were felicitation by the Govt. are the recipients of president’s awards from 2014 to 2019.
It may be recalled that Ahmedabad City Detection of Crimes Branch had killed in an encounter Ms. Ishrat Jahan and two to her companions.
At that time, crime branch was headed by the former DCP, Vanjara and Mr. Pandey was Jt. Commissioner of Crime.
