Chandauli : A 17-year-old Khalid Ansari , who was allegedly set on fire by four people in Chandauli district after refused to chant “Jai Shree Ram” succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Self-Immolation
According to SP Chandauli, an eye witness had seen Khalid set himself ablaze.
Dinesh Maurya, a hawker by profession was reported to be the witness to the entire incident that took place on Sunday night.

According to Chandauli SP, after investigating the case and talking to eyewitnesses had concluded that Khalid has given different statements and had set himself on fire.

The boy has been admitted in Kabir Chaura hospital in Varanasi. He suffered 60 per cent burns and the condition was said to be critical.
It was reported that the teenager was set on fire when he refused to chant “Jai Shree Ram”. The youth gave the statement on the hospital’s camera.
“I was walking on Dudhari bridge when four masked people kidnapped me. Two of them tied my hand and third one started pouring kerosene. After which they set me on fire and ran away,” he said.
He later said that he was being forced to chant “Jai Shree Ram”.
Fake & Fabricated
Chandauli Police denies allegations and clarified that the claimed was fake and fabricated by few ‘anti-social elements’ who tutored him with an intention to spread communal discord.
