“Jail Bharo” campaign underway against KCR’s detention spree

Hyderabad: En route to the Ambedkar Statue on Tankbund to protest the recent detention of Chandrashekhar Azad, protestors were detained near the GHMC office building. Around 9 people were arrested as they sought to demonstrate against the government’s decision to arrest the Bhim army party President. The party chief further shot to fame during the anti CAA-NRC protests in Delhi.

Be it Azad, other up and coming leaders like Kanhaiya Kumar,  other student-lead protests, the state government has been clamping down upon such activity. That too, despite Chief Minister KCR criticizing the centre’s CAA-NRC push after a long spate of silence without a condemnation.

Anticipating the ruling dispensation’s tendency of detaining protesters in mind, the Bhim Army has deemed their campaign as the “Jail Bharo” campaign. Photo ( Laeeq )
