Jewish settlers, Israeli minister storm Al-Aqsa Mosque compound

Jerusalem: Scores of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday morning. Unfortunately, Israel’s Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel also joined them in the raids. The settlers were allowed into the Muslim holy site through the Maghribi Gate which is under the occupation’s control by Israeli occupation forces who accompanied them, Middle East Monitor reported.

It must be noted that more than 1,700 settlers storm the area on Sunday in an effort to disrupt Palestinians marking the Muslim festival of Eid Al-Adha. This was a “record” number of Jewish settlers storming the compound under the protection of Israeli police officers in a single day.

Muslim worshippers visiting Al-Aqsa for Eid Al-Adha prayers were violently cracked down by Israel during which at least 65 Palestinians were injured. Israel Police shot rubber bullets and teargas into the crowds and used truncheons to beat worshippers.
