‘Kashmir to turn into Palestine’: RJD’s Manoj Jha on Article 370

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal Manoj Jha has strongly opposed the axing of Article 370 by the ruling BJP-led-NDA government.

Opposing the Bill, Jha has said that the decision taken today for the (abolition of) Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in the Rajya Sabha, he said ‘we have opened a way for Kashmir to turn into Palestine in five years, Jha alleged.

“What has happened with Article 370, I can’t ever stand with that.”

The RJD MP referred to the letter of former Janta Party leader Jayaprakash Narayan in the House which he had written to Indira Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru regarding Kashmir. 

Jha said, “we have opened the way for Kashmir to become Palestine. I only urge you to forgo your ego and embrace the Kashmiris.” 

Earlier, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has reacted strongly to Amit Shah ‘s resolution to abolish Article 370, which gives privileges to Jammu and Kashmir. 

Mn Monday morning ahead of the parliament proceedings, Home Minister Amit Shah announced the decision to revoke Article 370 amid opposition.
