Kashmir: Father breaks down into tears after talking to son

Srinagar: In view of the prevailing security situation in Kashmir, certain restrictions are imposed in the valley which includes suspension of phone services and internet connections.

Due to the absence of communication, people of the valley faced a lot of difficulties as they were unable to speak to their near and dear ones.

The facility set up at a helpline center gave some relief to the people as they were able to talk to their relatives.

Speaking to Ms. Barkha Dutt, one of the Kashmiri men broke down into tears after talking to his son on phone.

The man said that for the past 10 days, he was unable to talk to his son who is in Oman. He further said that he talked to his son for one minute.

It may be mentioned that restrictions are imposed in the valley after Central Government scrapped Article 370 which gave special status to the State. The government also bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir State into Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) with legislature and Ladakh UT without legislature.
