Kuwait: Islamic preacher dies while giving sermon on Prophet

KUWAIT CITY: An Islamic preacher Hajj Mahmoud Abdel-Baqi (Abu Khattab) in Kuwait died during a religious sermon.

A video clip of Abu Khattab documenting the moment of his death has become viral on social media platforms.

In the video, Abdel Baqi is giving a lecture about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during a wedding ceremony and the attendees are seen to be intently listening to him.

In the midst of the lecture, he pronounced ‘Shahada‘- La ilaha illallah (“There is no god but Allah”) before he breathed his last.

Abdel-Baqi, who died at the age of 83 is a Palestinian from the village of Balaa in Tulkarm.

He studied law and obtained a master’s degree in Islamic studies from Kuwait University before worked for the charitable field.

He also contributed to the establishment of the first zakat committee the Al-Othman Zakat Committee in the Arab world.

Both the Palestinians and Kuwaitis praised the preacher and his keenness on charitable work.
