CAA-NRC: After JMI, man opens fire at Shaheen Bagh protesters

New Delhi: A man fired bullets in Shaheen Bagh this evening. This follows an incident of shooting at Jamia Millia on Thursday where a class 12 student opened fire at CAA-NRC protestors in which a journalism student received bullet injuries.

According to initial reports, no one has been hurt in the unexpected violence at Shaheen Bagh.

According to the eyewitnesses, two bullets were fired after the gunman loudly said ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

Anti-CAA protests have been going on in a part of the Shaheen Bagh area for over a month now.

The juvenile who opened fire hails from Greater Noida’s Jewar according to Police. He was later detained and is being questioned by the police.

Farooq, an MA Mass Communication student, had sustained injuries in his left hand.

The accused was later sent to 14-day protective custody by the Juvenile Justice Board in Delhi on Friday.
