MANUU students begin 1lakh postcard campaign against CAA-NRC-NPR

Hyderabad: Launching a campaign to post one lakh postcards to the President on Sunday, the students union of Maulana Azad National Urdu University urged him to revoke CAA, NRC and NPR.

Students of other universities in the country would also be urged to join the postcard campaign, said students union president Umar Faruq.

Revealing the further plan of action, Umar Faruq said, he and the union vice president Intekhab Alam would visit Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi University (DU) and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) on January 28 and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on January 30 to urge the students there to join the postcards campaign.

A protest rally was taken out inside the MANUU campus on Sunday against the CAA.

It must be recalled that the students had written a letter to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, requesting him to pass a resolution against the Centre’s controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state’s Legislative Assembly. They also wrote similar letters to 9 non-BJP chief ministers of the country, requesting all of them to pass Assembly resolutions against CAA and NRC.
