Miscreants intimidate 23-year-old hijab-clad girl, raises “Jai Shri Ram” slogan

Bengal: A group of 10-12 men allegedly intimidated a 23-year-old hijab-clad girl student. They also raised “Jai Shri Ram” slogan.

According to the report published in New Indian Express, this incident took place on the campus of the institution located in north Bengal.

At around 10 p.m., miscreants allegedly threatened the girl when she was returning from the canteen along with her friend.

Narrating the incident, the girl said that the men started raising “Jai Shri Ram” slogan after noticing her attire. The girl also said that they had pointed fingers at them while raising the slogan.

The girl alleged that initially, the local police had refused to register her complaint. Later, they asked her to drop the word “threatened” from the complaint, she added.

The next day, police registered her complaint without dropping the word.

Talking about her attire, the girl said that she always wear hijab and had never face such harassment earlier.

It may be mentioned that after BJP’s landslide victory in the recently held Lok Sabha Elections, PM Modi had coined slogan, ” Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas”, however, incidents of harassments are taking place one after the other.
