More than 20 cases booked against Million March organisers

Hyderabad: City Police on Saturday booked more than twenty cases in various police stations against Mushtaq Malik, Convenor Joint Action Committee against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)and NRC and others for allegedly violating the conditions of Million March police permission.

Taking a suo-moto action,  police alleged that Mushtaq Malik and his followers have violated the conditions of Joint Commissioner of police, Central Zone who had accorded permission for a protest on Januray 5 at Indira park Dharna Chowk. Despite clear instructions of not permitting more than one thousand persons to take part in Million March, but the followers of the JAC convenor took out rally by obstructing the free flow of traffic. 

The Saidabad police have also booked the Muslim cleric Moulana Mohammed Naseeruddin for allegedly mobilizing a group of people to Million March.

In east zone itself the police have registered nine cases in and other zones of Hyderabad city too have booked cases. The  cases have been registered under IPC sections 143(Unlawful Assembly), 341(Wrongful Restraint) and 290 (Nuisance).

 The police have also booked those persons who have taken part in the Million March and moved towards the venue by forming a rally. Thousands of citizens took part in Million March on Saturday which had thrown the twin cities traffic out of gear.

“ It was a peaceful Million March, but In order to scare us, the police have booked many cases against those who have organized March and participated in that, I am ready face the legal battle and the movement against CAA and NRC will continue,  said Mushtaq Malik, Convenor Andhra Pradesh and telangana Joint Action Committee against Citizens Amendment Act (CAA)and NRC.
