Mumbai Police new experiment on reckless honkers

New Delhi: Mumbai Police on Friday came up with an experiment for its people who were very incessant at honking, referred as ‘reckless honkers’ by the traffic police. They posted a video on their official twitter handle where the idea was introduced.

Mumbai Police installed a decibal metre at a signal, the ‘Punishing Signal’ as they described it. Every time the decibals around the signal went beyond a point, the timer on the traffic light would reset making one’s wait longer. The message is clear – ‘honk responsibly’.

The video collected 4,800 likes, more than 2,100 retweets and quite a few positive responses from people. Few users said this is a very important initiative taken by the Police and urged their city police to do something similar.
