HYDERABAD: After news of a fake fatwa, an actual fatwa has been issued by Hyderabad’s Seminary against the viral song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’.

Jamia Nizamia, one of the oldest Islamic seminaries has issued a fatwa over theĀ  viral song from the film Oru Adaar Love urging the authorities concerned to remove it from the film before its release.

“The song should be banned and the government should also not allow the film to be released, until the song is removed from the film,” the statement says.

On Tuesday night, a group of Muslims in Hyderabad has lodged a complaint with the Falaknuma Police Station against the song featuring internet sensation Priya Prakash Varrier.

The complainant Zaheer Khan told CNN-News18, “The song’s lyrics are against Muslim sentiments and are offensive to the followers of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The picturization of the song is a girl and boy romancing which is hurting religious sentiments. We demand song should be banned.”

Oru Adaar LoveĀ releasing next month is written and directed by Omar Lulu, and produced by Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy under the banner of Ousepachan Movie House has music by Shaan Rahman.
