Phagwara: A first year student of a private university was found hanging from roof girder at his residence here, police said today.
Hammar Robert, 19, was studying arts at Lovely Professional University (LPU) and is beleived to have committed suicide at his home in Maheru village colony last night, said Sub-Inspector Baljinder Singh, incharge of chaheru village police post.
Police suspect that Robert might be suffering from depression.
A case has been registered in this connection, Singh said.
The body was handed over to his family after post-mortem at local civil hospital, he said.
