NEW DELHI: Three cows and two calves have died at a government shelter here after heavy rains led to swampy conditions, officials said today.

Continuous rains led to water-logging in the shelter. A number of cows also got stuck in the swampy land after which they were shifted to a temporary shelter, the officials said.

Many cows have fallen sick while three cows died on Wednesday, two calves passed away yesterday, they said.

According to the shelter employees, the three cows died fighting among themselves.
