30 escape death as bus about to fall into deep well in Anantapur

Some 30 passengers traveling in an RTC bus escaped death miraculously when the driver, who wanted to avoid hitting a biker, swerved the vehicle and stopped it an inch or two away from falling into a 100-feet-deep road-side step well.

The incident occurred near Mamillapalli Kunta crossroads in Anantapur district on Tuesday. The Gorantla-Puttaparthi bus escaped disaster by a hair breadth. All the commuters were evacuated safely but with minor injuries. However, in the process of avoiding biker, the bus hit a pedestrian, who died on the spot. (NSS)
