Jammu: Five persons were arrested and nine gram heroin was recovered from their possession in the outskirts of Jammu city today.
Acting on a tip-off, a car carrying four persons was intercepted at Rattian area of Miran Sahib, police said.
Following a search of Ankush Kumar, Rohit Sharma, Aruneshwar Charak and the driver Tariq Ahmed, nine gram of heroin and a sharp-edged weapon was recovered, they said.
During interrogation, they revealed the name of another accomplice identified as Puran Chand, who was also arrested, police said.
A case under various sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against the accused and investigations were underway, the official said.
