5 more sheikhs held for having links with tainted qazi

Hyderabad: 5 more sheikhs were arrested by the police, following busting of global human trafficking case on Tuesday.

As reported by TOI, at least five more Arabs aged around 65 years are in police custody. One of them is 75 years old. The purpose of their visit to Hyderabad is being established. Most of the sheikhs were having links with on-the-run accused, Qazi Ali Abdullah Rifai.

Getting clue from a reluctant 16-year-old girl, who was interviewed by a 50-year old sheikh for marriage, Hyderabad police raided four lodges in Old City, and arrested eight Arab sheikhs, five middlemen and four hotel owners. 12 minor girls who were at four lodges were rescued by the police. Eight sheikhs from Oman and Qatar were arrested.

After examining the passports of the five sheikhs, police found that several of them have been frequent visitors to Mumbai and Kochi, other than Hyderabad and were in touch with Qazi Ali Abdullah Rifai.
