500 political activists join BJP

Some 500 political activists from Maheshwaram and Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituencies today joined the BJP in the presence of State party president Dr K Laxman, who welcomed them by putting saffron shawls at BJP headquaters at Nampally.

Addressing the gathering, Laxman alleged that the ruling TRS has utterly failed to fulfil its election promises. The TRS was following corrupt practices of Congress party and the TRS government encouraging family rule in the State, he accused. Hitherto only farmers were committing suicides but now unemployed youths have started restoring to commit suicides, he said citing yesterday’s OU incident where a student Murli committed suicide as he was depressed because of government’s failure to release job notification. Describing the Sunday’s incident as unfortunate, the State BJP chief said the State government was responsible for the incident.

Laxman said the Central government has taken various steps for the welfare of BCs, STs, SCs, farmers, women and unemployed. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 18 States are under BJP rule. He expressed confidence that BJP would come to power in Telangana State in the 2019 elections. (NSS)
