90 buses for GES, 50 for Metro: Mahender

Transport Minister Mahender Reddy today said that Metro Rail launch will be a historic event in the state and promised that TSRTC will press adequate number of buses for transporting people on the lines of Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai. As per global city plan by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao the RTC is getting ready to provide more number of buses. In the first phase to connect from Nagole to Miyapur 30 km stretch, 50 buses in 10 routes will be made available at the metro stations on experiment basis.

Addressing a press conference at Secretariat after holding a meeting with officials and discussing on to press in A/C and other buses to international delegates he said that 50 AC luxury buses and 10 other Vajra buses will be plied. He said that 50 AC Multi Axle buses and 50 mini buses will be operated to shift international delegates for GES program. For this we have appointed 20 senior officials, 40 supervisors, 150 experienced drivers the minister said. As part of it 29 buses in 6 routes will be plied from metro stations and extend services to colonies based on requirement. He said that 22 colonies by the side of 24 metro stations will get 212 trips will be operated.

A total of 90 buses to shift delegates for three-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit at HICC and also connect with Metro Rail stations to shift the passengers to their destinations. The RTC will provide its services at Metro Rail stations and ply 50 services to IT corridor. It was planned to provide 30 Vajra buses to Golconda Fort for a dinner to be hosted by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for foreign delegates after the inaugural of GES he said.
