Former minister and Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today said that congress will win 2019 elections, if the TRS high command gives tickets to 90 sitting MLAs. The TRS will lose power as at least 30 MLAs will be defeated in the elections as they do not enjoy public support, he said.
Interacting with media persons at Assembly lobbies here, Reddy said that people are unhappy with the TRS rule for failing to keep promises. Reddy said that he will sure win the contest with more or less majority of votes. Stating that there is no truth in the campaign that he will float a political party, Venkat Reddy said that he did not demand but only made a request to the AICC to give him TPCC president post. However, ‘we do not know, anything may happen in the congress’ he quipped. Reddy also said that Kiran Kumar Reddy became chief minister though there was no such expectation. He refused to react on Kancharla Bhupal Reddy, TDP leader from Nalgonda, joining the TRS fold recently. Bhupal Reddy is not of my level to respond, Reddy said. He said that he won against Gutha Sukhender Reddy with 40, 000 votes majority. Even YS Rajasekhar Reddy won elections with different majorities like 5000 votes and 5 lakh votes respectively in two elections, he added.(NSS)
