Al Jazeera has to stop it’s broadcast in India

NEW DELHI: The Qatar-based channel Al Jazeera may have to stop broadcasting in India as the security clearance has been withdrawn by the Home Ministry.

While no explanation has been provided, media reports suggest that the decision seems to have been taken after the broadcast of a documentary about militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.

As per documents, the security clearance was given by the Home Ministry on December 3, 2010, and withdrawn on May 29, 2018.

Now the fate to the channel depends on the Home Ministry. Al Jazeera English executives declined to comment, as per reports published in ET.
