All farmers in country want Rythu Bandhu: Jagadish

“The Rythu Bandhu scheme introduced by the Telangana Government was inspirational to farmers in all other States in the country”, Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy today said.

Speaking after distributing cheques and passbooks to farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme at Puligilla village in Valigonda mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district here on Tuesday, the minister said the farmers across the nation have been looking at the prestigious Rythu Bandhu scheme, which was first of its kind in the country and seeking to replicate it, he claimed. He said the entire nation was looking at the Rythu Bandhu scheme and other welfare schemes that were reaching to farmers.

Rythu Bandhu scheme has created a revolution in the country as the farming community was getting unique benefit of crop investment support, he said. Giving Rs 4,000 per acre for one crop to a farmer was a great thing, Jagadish Reddy said. However, the main Opposition Congress party was upset with the successful implementation of welfare schemes for farmers, he opined. He also said the Congress was fearing debacle and rejection by the farmers and people at the new scheme of crop investment.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, being a farmer and aware of the farming related problems, has launched yet another unique scheme to give them financial succor, he said. Several States are keenly watching cheques and passbooks distribution being celebrated in a festive mood in all 30 districts in the State. On receiving the cheques and passbooks, the farmers in every village were feeling proud to be Telangana peasants, the minister said. He also said the TRS government was spending a whopping Rs 12,000 crore for Rythu Bandhu scheme. “We have released Rs 6,000 crore to the banks for disbursing the same to the farmers, who received cheques, he added.
