Ayesha Meera Murder Case: Hyderabad High Court instructs SIT to trace hostel mates

Hyderabad: Hyderabad High Court on Friday instructed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to trace the hotel mates of Ayesha Meera who were present in the hostel on 27th December 2007.

According to the report published in Times of India, the bench of Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathanand, Justice K Vijaya Lakshmi is monitoring the probe of Ayesha Meera Murder Case which is being conducted by Special Investigation Team (SIT). This instruction was given after reviewing the report submitted by SIT.

Justice Ramesh question that when someone hit the girl, will she not scream? Will it not be heard by other girls?. Justice Ramesh further asked SIT to trace the girls who were present in the hostel in that night to find out the truth.

The bench also accorded permission to replace Saharunnisa Begum with Abdul Kareem as the member of the SIT. Mr. Abdul Kareem is an inspector in the Guntur CCS.

Delay in getting evidence from Forensic Science Laboratory was cited as the reason for the slow progress in the case. The bench said that it would seek a reply from Forensic Science Laboratory for the delay.

The bench also directed the State to take a step against the earlier investigators who derailed the investigation before. Next hearing of the case will be done on 13th July 2018.
