BJP only alternative to TRS: Laxman

BJP Telangana president Dr K Lakshman today said his party will go it alone in the 2019 general elections as stated by national BJP president Amit Shah.

Interacting with mediapersons here on Sunday, Laxman said there will be no truck with any other political party in the State and his party will fight on its own. “Shah said the TRS is the target of the BJP in Telangana for the next general elections”, Lakshman said, adding “Our national president asked us to ignore the appreciation of the State government schemes by Union ministers. We will take up publicity on Central schemes to reach out to the people”, he said.

Laxman said the fight against the TRS government will go on until it filled 1.12 lakh jobs as promised. He also said he has informed Shah about the party situation in the State and there was need for getting ready for the elections. Denying media reports that there will be general elections ahead schedule, he said the BJP will strengthen itself in towns and villages to take on the ruling party and fight against corruption.

The BJP is only alternative to the TRS, he said. The Congress and the TRS are one and the same in corruption, he charged. The Centre came up with people-friendly budget with a focus on agriculture, health and education and promised to provide one-and-a-half times of MSP amount on crop investments. He also said the State BJP will make door-to-door campaign on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bheema Yojana, Ayushman and other schemes.

He also alleged that Chief Minister KCR denied posts to those who fought for statehood and gave chance to others, who opposed Telangana tooth and nail. He said Sattupally TRS leader Ramalingeshwar Rao will soon join the BJP and NRI Amarender Reddy, who joined the party will contest as an MLA from Wanaparty or MP from Mahbubnagar, he said. Lakshman welcomed Dr Srinivas of Kagaznagar into the party fold. (NSS)
