BJP leader booked for slaughtering cow at home in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: A BJP leader and four of his relatives were booked for allegedly slaughtering a cow at his residence.

The incident happened on Wednesday in Tonkkhurd about 30 kms from Dewas in Madhya Pradesh.

According to Indian Express report, the party “quickly expelled” Anwar Mev alias Anna, who was associated with the party’s minority cell in Dewas, for “the major crime” after police recovered beef from his home on Thursday.

Anwar alleged that the meat was not cow meat but Sisodia said that the meat seized from his residence was cow meat. Samples will be sent to a laboratory in Mathura for confirmation.

According to Investigating Officer Vijay Sisodia, “The veterinary hospital has prima facie found it to be cow meat. We will wait for the laboratory report from Mathura”.

Anwar and nine others, including his eight relatives, were booked under the anti-cow slaughter law and relevant sections of the IPC and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals law.”

“It did not matter what responsibility he had but we quickly expelled him after he committed a major crime,” Dewas district BJP chief Gopikrishna Vyas told the newspaper.
