BSP leader Haji Iqbal participates in “Yajna” at university, triggers controversy

Lucknow: Haji Iqbal, BSP leader’s participation in Yajna at a University in Saharanpur triggered controversy.
Muslim clerics termed it as a un-Islamic act and demanded him to seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT).

It may be mentioned that Haji Iqbal participated in Yajna at Glocal University which he owns. It was performed on the occasion of Dhanwantari Puja held on 18th October.

According to the news published in Hindustan Times, Haji Iqbal’s presence was recorded in a video which got viral on social media.

Talking on this issue, university authorities told that the Yajna was held on the directions from Central Govt.

Earlier, Union Govt. had issued directions to all Ayurveda institutes to organize such function on Dhanvantari Day.

It may be noted that Mr. Iqbal is under the scanner of Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax Department.

State president of the All-India Imam Association Mufti Zulfikar termed the act of Mr. Iqbal as un-Islamic and asked him to seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT). However, Dar-ul-Uloom Deoband is reluctant to involve in this controversy.
