Bulandshahr: Nadeem, Raees arrested for alleged cow slaughter, SHO killer still roams free

BULANDSHAHR: The UP Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday arrested five more in the Bulandshahr violence case that killed an on-duty inspector local youth on December 3.

Those three arrested in an alleged cow slaughter case were identified as Nadeem, Raees and Kala for their involvement in the cow slaughtering case.

While the two nabbed on Tuesday for instigating violence were identified as Sachin Singh alias Cobra, 21, and Johnny Chaudhary, 19, were not named in the FIR lodged in the matter.

The Bulandshahr police recovered double barrel gun, a machete, a meat chopper and a sharp-edged weapon from them on the intervening night of December 2 and 3.

“Nadeem, Raees and Kala who were registered as the main accused after collection of technical evidence used to shoot cows with a gun, cut in pieces and then divided among themselves,” Atul Kumar Srivastav, Superintendent of Police City, Siana said.

However, the three key accused of instigating the violence — Yogesh Raj, Bajrang Dal district convenor, BJP’s Syana youth wing president Shikhar Agarwal and the VHP’s former Syana town president Upendra Raghav are still absconding.

A total of 19 arrests so far but Raj who is also accused of murdering police inspector Subodh Singh is still at large.

SHO Subodh Kumar Singh and a youth named Sumit died in the violence which erupted on December 3, after the carcasses of 25 cattle were found in forests close to a police post.

A mob of over 400 people including right-wing activists aggressively rampaged had alleged that the carcasses found were of cows which were slaughtered illegally.

According to sources, the post-mortem examination conducted on Singh had confirmed gunshot injury on his head.
